KATLIN BARRETT
Driven by a lifelong commitment to social impact, Katlin served her campus community in various roles as Student Health Educator, Orientation Assistant, and collecting data for numerous research projects in the Community Research Lab. Katlin's research contributed to securing a $50,000 grant for community health initiatives. As Katlin's perspectives broadened via her school's study abroad program with Manchester Metropolitan University. Katlin's international experience honed her cultural sensitivity and communication skills, which she later leveraged to connect more authentically with niche and target audiences.
After college, she soon came to the realization that she wanted to live in Washington, DC and work to obtain her Master's degree. As a grad student she was employed by George Mason University's Communications Department - teaching over 1,000 students. During that time she was impacting her students by challenging them to mean what they say. Katlin developed innovative course modules that increased student engagement by 20%, while her mentorship guided over 50 graduates to secure their dream jobs. She also worked as an Associate Director of Marketing for University Life again focused on niche audiences.
A chance meeting brought Katlin into field marketing and started her professional marketing career after holding de-facto marketing duties in previous positions. After working to support numerous markets – education, arts, books, and beverages – Katlin began her work with large and small non-profit organizations to support various communities.
For fun Katlin loves to practice reformer Pilates and explore the eastern United States from the Maine Coast to the Carolina Beaches.
